Aamayum Muyalum Malayalam Movie Review

Critic Reviews- (Ratings out of 10)

  •  Times Of India | Review By -Deepa Soman Rating-4
The makers of Aamayum Muyalum claim that it's a comedy flick, but after impatiently waiting for more than two hours for laughter, you end up with an entertainment-induced headache! For those planning to relive the memories of Kilukkam, Poochakkoru Mookkuthi, Thenmavin Kombathu

  •  Rediff | Review By -Paresh C Palicha Rating-3
One obvious advantage of being a film director in India is that you can ‘remake’ a film in as many languages as you like, without racking your brains for a new story. No one knows this better than Priyadarshan, who has been peddling blockbuster Malayalam films in Hindi for the last 20 years.

  •  Filmi Beat | Review By -Akhila Menon Rating-3
Aamayum Muyalum is the comedy movie directed by Priyadarshan. The movie, which is the remake of Priyadarshan-directed Bollywood flick Malamaal Weekly, stars Jayasurya, Nedumudi Venu and Innocent in the central roles. Piaa Bajpai essays the female lead opposite Jayasurya in the movie.

  •  Deccan Chronicle | Review By -Sujit Chandra Kumar Rating-4
No Malayali can forget the perennially funny scene in Kilukkam where Innocent emotes the effect on a penniless man when he wins a big lottery. Priyadarshan tries to stetch that emotion to two hours and more, only to find that the subject can’t sustain viewer interest for such a long time.

  •  Now Running | Review By -Veeyen Rating-4
Who on earth would have imagined that Priyadarshan will have the gall to be inspired yet again by the 1998 Hollywood comedy 'Waking Ned' when he set out to make a Malayalam film? The last time Ned had stimulated the film maker in him was in 2006, when he sprung a surprise on Bollywood

  •  Indiaglitz | Rating-6
Coming from the likes of Priyadarshan, 'Aamayum Muyalum’, the latest offering for Christmas is a faithful rehash of his Hindi hit 'Malamaal weekly'. But surprisingly the movie which has the best of the supporting actors of Mollywood fails to engage us with its content and slapstick comedies
