Critic Reviews Chakravyuha

  • Bangalore Mirror | Review By -Shyam Prasad S Rating-6/10
The first half is almost realistic and there is no unnecessary demonstration of heroism. As the love track gets intertwined, it turns to being one more run-of-the-mill commercial masala film. The screenplay suffers from failing to establish whose point of view the story is seen from. With the plot already revealed to the audience, it seems funny the lead character's name is not used till the very end. There is nothing left to unravel in the second half so it had to be filled with more action.

While the director has all the right and powerful tools such as Puneeth Rajkumar in an action packed role, and the imported villains doing their best, the crux still remains ordinary which just manages to cross ‘that’ satisfactory mark. And, it is certainly not the greatest one, and is bound to fade away as another good watch for the ‘power’ fans.

Saravanan infuses style and chutzpah to the entire narrative of Chakravyuha, making it an explosive watch. He chisels each of his key players with finesse — be it Puneeth Rajkumar as the conscientious citizen roused into action role as Lohit, or Arun Vijay as the despicable villain, or the doe-eyed Rachita Ram as the besotted Anjali. It’s such a pleasure to watch her essaying the role with naivety and naturalness.

  • Times Of India | Review By -Sunayana Suresh Rating-7/10
The first half of the film is breezy, gritty and enjoyable. The second half has more masala, but manages to hold the attention for most parts. The romantic track in this film is not the usual unnecessary inclusion, but plays an important part in the narrative, and Rachita Ram has a decent role that she utilizes well. The duet numbers show promises of a good pair in the off'ing in Sandalwood.

  • Chitraloka | Review By -Chitraloka Rating-7/10
The film has lots of commercial elements. A common man trying to do the impossible and achieving it, great stunt sequences, a cute love story and a great combination of Puneeth and Rachita Ram. Puneeth's character Lohith who is an ordinary man (works in private construction company as engineer) turns into an action hero. It all begins when the Law minister and his younger brother leads violence in a college campus which kills three students and leaves many injured in the incident. When the police fail to take action against them it makes Lohith to start his own Chakravyuha to stop this activity.
