Critic Reviews Style King

  • Deccan Herald | Review By -S Viswanath Rating-4/10
Filled with double entendres and an equally obnoxious Sadhu Kokila as corrupt civic body inspector Sadhu, the film is strictly for Ganesh’s fans. Remya Nambeesan is just a pretty prop. The film’s only plus is its colourful choreography with rich, rainbow designer dresses. The same, though, cannot be said of its half a dozen songs.

With it comes to performances, Ganesh is top-notch, giving his best as both the good and bad guy. Remya doesn't have a big role as such in her hyped debut. The comic ensemble do their part, especially Rangayana Raghu and Sundar Raj . Watch this film if you are a die-hard Ganesh fan or love your regular dose of masala-laden commercial cinema.

  • Deccan Chronicle | Review By -Shashiprasad SM Rating-5/10
Following the rule book of typical double role ventures, the director puts in a chase in between the songs, adds in a fight sequence that leads to the mix-ups. Will the good person end up becoming a police officer, and will the bad one be brought to justice? Or is there is another twist to this 'tail'. Even in this film, the police maintain their timing -arrive right after the final decisive fight.  Aimed at commercial entertainment ‘Style King’ is watchable, despite being typical.

  • Bangalore Mirror | Review By -Shyam Prasad S Rating-6/10
There is no pretention in this film. It is an outright and committed entertainer. And there you go: you have the most basic of an adventure-comedy. With the bar set low, it is an easy journey and the film manages to hold its own. The plot is as 'filmy' as it can get - a concoction of two look-alikes: one an aspiring cop and the other a 'born thief'.

  • Cine Sinchana | Review By -Raju Shanbhag Rating-4/10
If there is one thing that’s enjoyable in this film, it’s the dialogue. The film has some really witty dialogues and scenes and that makes this otherwise forgettable affair somewhat bearable. Rangayana Raghu is in his elements after a long time and so is Padmaja Rao, who gets to something different than playing a crying mummy. But the problem with Style King is it gets pushes and pulled in all directions and ends up being nowhere.
