Critic Reviews Kalpana 2

  • Bangalore Mirror | Review By -Shyam Prasad S Rating-6/10
The horror-comedy is quite enjoyable. It has almost a perfect blend of scary ghosts and silly characters to keep the audience engaged. The film follows the same pattern as its predecessor and there is a flashback that is a perfect ploy for dead people to turn into ghosts. Upendra is in a double role as a TV cameraman and as an auto driver.

Unfortunately the ghost, which is actually an import (remake of Kanchana 2) from the scary house of Kanchana of Muni series, is neither scary nor funny unlike its prequel. Despite being stale, there are some hilarious moments which make it watchable, and the rest depends on one’s spirit!

  • The Hindu | Review By -Archana Nathan
One was looking forward to see how both the director and the actors would strike a balance between the scare and the laugh. But Kalpana 2’s comedy bits are rather lame and again come across as utterly clich├ęd. Overall, Kalpana 2 does seem as if all your senses are under attack as it fails to make you laugh or be afraid.

  • Times Of India | Review By -Sunayana Suresh Rating-6/10
The film is entertaining in the traditional sense of the word, as it manages to evoke both laughter and fright in equal bits through the story. While the mandatory spooky introduction sequence seems to give a wobbly foundation, what follows from there is enough to keep the viewers hooked.
