Critic Reviews Pellichoopulu

  • Times Of India | Review By -Pranita Jonnalgedda Rating-7/10
In an industry where going over the top, using dialogues to emphasize style and telling a story in the male point of view is the norm, a film like #PelliChoopulu is a breath of fresh air. It's simple, fresh and more importantly a slice of your life. As old as the concept of pelli choopulu might seem, the way director Tharun Bhascker deals with it is extremely fresh and truly in sync with the times.

From the d├ęcor of the houses to the interiors of the food truck, nothing looks fake. Many rom-coms make you laugh while in the cinema hall. Very few make an impact by portraying realistic characters. This falls in the second category. Pelli Choopulu is fantastic. Don’t miss it.

  • The New Indian Express | Review By -Suhas Yellapantula Rating-6/10
Pelli Choopulu is realistic and beautiful, this is a film you can watch with your family. Pelli Choopulu is a film that will make you smile, to the extent that you embarrass yourself. It just goes to show that if you have talented actors, clear direction and a good script -- sky's the limit. A must watch!

Vivek Sagar’s music is pure bliss. The songs and background score work pretty well. The music doesn’t interrupt the flow; it rather creates a space for the narrative to move forward. Pelli Choopulu is going to help the team acquire bright spots in the industry soon. The director, composer, Priyadarshi, and leads should, in particular, be given a rapturous applause.

Finally, Pelli Choopulu is a breath of fresh air and gives one a break from the regular  commercial masala films. Tollywood has got a talented director in Tharun Bhascker, who has hit the nail when it comes to narrating a story connected to the present generation and  the mindset of their parents. The film is a must watch.

  • Now Running | Review By -NR Review Rating-5/10
Pelli Choopulu makes a good impression which several small budget films are missing these days. The movie can not be termed great but is fairly good for a small film. Good promotions will push the film further in to the audience and can make it a success at the box office.

  • AP Herald | Review By -Common Man Rating-6/10
The movie is a breath of fresh air and it is completely away from usual masala genre. The movie has lots of heart warming moments and this might be one of the under-rated movies in Tollywood. Younger generation audience will love this movie and others can definitely enjoy it big time.
