Critic Reviews Aatadukundam Raa

  • Times of India | Review By -Pranita Jonnalagedda Rating-4/10
It's been three years since we all saw Sushanth on screen. Such a long gap would seem like something very good was coming up. But turns out instead of using his very improved ability to perform (no kidding! Even his dances are pretty cool) for a good story, the actor decided to go the cliched way and opted for a story which is as old as the rocks and a narration that is as time-worn as an old shoe.

Aatadukundam Raa is a film with beaten to death formula and routine entertainment. Even though Sushanth and Pruthhvi try hard to save the film, the non-existent story and absurd comedy give a hard time for the audience. Watch it only if you have nothing else to do.

Couldn’t they have narrated the story without leaning so much on cameos and family references? What appeal will a film that doesn’t believe in itself have among its audience? A remix of ANR’s ‘Palleku Podam’ (Devadasu) features in the name of novelty. Classics are best left untouched. Rather than stepping into this time machine, watch some old hits of ANR or Nagarjuna.

Aatadukundam Raa is another run-of-the-mill comedy entertainer. However an improper story with a weak screenplay has pulled the movie down. Sonam’s costumes and skin show will work in B and C centers. Sushanth and Prudhvi try hard to lift the movie, but it is completely let down due to a weak script. The movie tests patience of audience with some poor editing too.

Aatadukundam Raa is yet another routine commercial stuff sticking to a confusion family drama and revenge template with cliched scenes and narration. Except for some decent comedy scenes here and there, everything is poor about Aatadukundam Raa.

Director should have taken much care in scripting and making this movie more entertaining. Anoop Rubens songs don’t add to this movie. Logic goes for a toss in Aatadukundam Raa. Akhil and Naga Chaitanya cameo does not make any difference. To sum up, Aatadukundham Raa is a wasted effort from Sushanth.
