  • Times of India | Review By -Sanjith Sidhardhan Rating-7/10
The first 15 minutes are gripping with the chase between the man-eater and the boy clearly setting the mood for a stylish film. The movie has a good enough story to keep the audience engaged while providing ample thrills through Peter Hein-choreographed fantastic action sequences.

The narrative is straight and tight. Most importantly, the movie is engaging throughout and doesn't slip off. Though it's an action thriller primarily, Vysakh has all the ingredients laced in for a well-balanced mix. The director has made sure that the elements he put in are there for a reason.

It is Mohanlal's calibre as an actor that makes this thriller a really thrilling experience. Udaykrishna's writing and Vysakh's direction use him very well, knowing what will work with his fans. Pulimurugan is a thrilling experience because of Mohanlal alone.

  • India Today | Review By -Srivatsan Rating-4/10
Thankfully, Pulimurugan doesn't have the space for mood-killing songs. Pulimurugan solely lies on its striking background numbers, and Sundar just upped the crescendo to the maximum. With a patchy story, Mohanlal's charisma makes Pulimurugan an engaging yarn, but only in parts.

The background music by Gopi Sundar enhances the cinematic experience, especially in the scenes involving tigers. The breathtaking visuals captured by cinematographer Shaji Kumar are a plus for the film. Overall, Pulimurugan provides a thrilling experience and it is the movie you should not miss this week.

Pulimurugan is surely a perfect treat for the action movie lovers and Mohanlal fans. But as a film, it has its own flaws, which will disappoint the movie lovers. The movie which has the best-ever action sequences in the history of Mollywood. Watch it for Mohanlal's one man show.

  • The Hindu | Review By -SR Praveen
Pulimurugan’ is a loud celebration of the superstar and his age-bending agility, which will endear it to the diehard fans. For those looking for the lesser mortal, the everyday man and an ounce of logic, it is bound to be a mammoth disappointment.

  • Behindwoods | Review By -BW Review Rating-5/10
The stunts by Peter Hein is the best thing in the movie and the background score has blended in with the edits by Johnkutty to make it an onscreen beauty. The VFX is good and will satisfy everyone who does not expect to see the VFX of a 400 crore Hollywood movie in a 25 crore Malayalam movie.
