  • Mid Day | Review By -Shubha Shetty Saha Rating-2/10
The film, touted as a sex comedy, is neither funny nor sexy. We are relentlessly served dollops of crude, unfunny innuendos instead. One flash of genuine humour comes in the form of the commercials that the friends make, but when you look at the whole picture, that seems like a stray stroke of luck than any kind of constructive creative thinking.

For some, the promise of two Sunny Leones for the price of one may be enough to invest in a ticket of Mastizaade. But believe me, there is such a thing as too much heaving bosom and jiggling backside. I found myself cringing more than laughing at the film’s idea of outrageous, adult humor. I’m going with one out of five.

At least KKHH 3 had a nifty premise; Mastizaade doesn't even deliver on that. Zaveri, also the film's director, has managed to sink to indecent depths of offensive humour. Mastizaade has no masti whatsoever. This is intolerable cruelty, a vicious attack on the senses. They have even got some cast members of Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 to drop by the sets and show some skin (Bruna Abdullah and Gizele Thakral). Lawman Jeans has given some money to this sex comedy too. If Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 was a low point, Mastizaade is the rock bottom.

Right away one should tell you that Mastizaade is the result of a fractured script. Word in the trade circles is that this so-called adult comedy was reportedly assaulted by the CBFC! So what you see, in the current running time of less than two hours, is a disjointed mishmash of some stupid sex jokes, tacky in-house product placement clips, Sunny Leone's tasteful skin show and two blundering idiots - Tusshar and Vir.

I'm stunned that the producers of this insanely exploitative flick missed out on a cheap trick that obvious. For this is a pointedly stupid film, a sloppily written paean to horndogs, a work of juvenile perversion. A hundred-minute excuse to stare at a woman while constantly eating bananas, Mastizaade is a confused, unfunny, and ultimately impotent disaster.

Mastizaade isn’t even a movie. For almost the entirety of its run time, it feels like getting screamed at by a pissed off plastic clown. It’s as pointless as a punctured condom. It’s as ghastly as a bad boob job. It’s like entering a lunatic pervert’s Internet search history tab and discovering only cake recipes. Let me repeat: Mastizaade isn’t a movie. It’s a bunch of sweaty sleazeballs exploiting Sunny Leone’s star power and straight up robbing your cash. Don’t let them.

Somehow, the second half of the film just cannot keep pace and as the film progresses, it goes into the ridiculously slapstick zone. The gags start wearing out after a point mainly because of the lack of a story. If only the writers (Mushtaq Sheikh and Milap) had taken this sex comedy a bit more seriously, they would’ve realized that Suresh Menon’s gay caricature isn’t funny anymore. Or that seeing a veteran like Asrani almost bare-clad under a waterfall is awkward and embarrassing.

  • Bollywood Life | Review By -Tushar Joshi Rating-4/10
A lot of scenes in the film are clich├ęd and even with the long pauses and build up one can predict the end of a stretched joke. Some even seem borrowed from Whatsapp groups. There isn’t any harm in using material that’s out, but then you lose the ability to throw a surprise or present something fresh. Because of lack of a vital story line the film has an uneven graph. Suresh Menon’s utterly stereotyped gay character is garish and totally unnecessary.

  • Bollywood Hungama | Review By -BH News Network Rating-3/10
On the whole, MASTIZAADE comes across as a ludicrous movie with an absurdly inept story and screenplay. After the initial hysteria subsides the film will struggle at the box office due to its weak content. Even though you would have wanted to see more of Riteish Deshmukh and his antics in this film, the sad part is that he is only in a cameo. A veteran actor like Asrani is totally wasted and one really feels sorry to see him in such a mindless film. The rest of the actors do no good in moving the film forward.

Ok, here we go. A one, a two, aaaaand, tada, Sunny Leone, she of the bountiful breasts, top-lining a film which calls itself, proudly, a sex com to beat all sex comedies. So are we to get a bouncy, squishy, panting, roll-on-the-floor, rising-till-the-rooftop fun fest? Having suffered through two hours of non-stop crassness, I am sorry to tell you that there are barely two-and-a-half laughs in ‘Mastizaade’. The alleged ‘masti’ is so ‘sasti’, that you are left cringing rather than cracking up.
