Critic Reviews Remo

  • Times of India | Review By -M Suganth Rating-6/10
The actor, who is amusing as Remo, carries the film, even in the weaker moments (the final half an hour is a needless stretch), and as usual he is ably supported by the technical team of Anirudh and PC Sreeram, whose peppy music and glossy visuals respectively lend richness to make us buy into this fantasy.

And like the veteran star, Sivakarthikeyan also turns into a he-man in the end -- a scene that is totally, totally out of place. Time Tamil cinema gave us mortals, not invincible iron-men pounding dozens of opponents into pulp.

  • Deccan Chronicle | Review By -Anupama Subramanian Rating-4/10
'Remo', a supposed rom-com piece of cinema, turns out to be a marketing effort that targets young males with very stereotypical behaviors that are generally found in other films. Strictly for Sivakarthikeyan’s fans!

  • The Hindu | Review By -Baradwaj Rangan
‘Remo’ is less about convincing us that a man can become a woman than reminding us Sivakarthikeyan has become a star. Bottomline: A charmless movie which puts effort into everything but the script

  • India Today | Review By -Srivatsan Rating-3/10
Though the first half is laced with so-called romance and comedy, it is the second half that really tests your patience. So much so, that one checks his/her pocket for Saridon or any painkillers. In all, Remo gives an all-new dimension to stalking. As its lead actor puts it, there's no problem in stalking as long as 'your love is pure'.

  • Rediff | Review By -S Saraswathi Rating-4/10
The end is quite predictable and the screenplay meanders endlessly to provide some laughs, plenty of sentiments, over-the-top action and some stunning music by Anirudh Ravichander. Sivakarthikeyan does make a pretty picture as a girl, but other than that debutant director Bakkiyaraj Kannan's Remo has nothing new to offer.

But if only more care was taken in the story and screenplay department, the film would have emerged as a better product. End of the day, Remo offers what majority of moviegoers expect when they enter into cinema hall - ENTERTAINMENT.

  • Studio Flicks | Review By -Richard Mahesh Rating-5/10
Overall, Remo is a feel good movie with a regular Rom-Com pattern but manages to keep the audiences engrossed with beautiful visuals and technical elegance along with screen presence of Sivakarthikeyan.

  • Cinema Glitz | Review By -Sajid Rating-5/10
Bakkiyaraj Kannan’s debut was impressive market wise which was well packaged by 24AM Studios, which makes him a decent filmmaker. But as a story teller he needs to work on. REMO might work just because of its lead, with great touch up by PC sir. Can watch for Sivakarthikeyan.

  • Danie Britto | Review By -Danie Britto Rating-5/10
Bakyaraj Kannan, the director should have done a lot of homework on the script. Masses who are up for mere entertainment may find it entertaining. See it at your own peril. Decent first half and a major let down in the second half.
